How to Use

Let’s go over how to use our crushed grain products

Crushed Wheat #1

1:1 replacement for flour. You can use existing recipes and replace the flour with Crushed Wheat #1. If the recipe calls for 4 cups of flour you can use 4 cups of Crushed Wheat #1. It also works as a breading for frying. It has 1 gram of dietary fiber per ¼ cup.

Crushed Wheat #2

Can be a 1:1 replacement for flour with Crushed Wheat #1. Using only Crushed Wheat #2 will make a very dense and heavy loaf of bread, although there will be some people that like that. This would make a bread the butter doesn’t soak into. We use Crushed Wheat #2 with Crushed Wheat #1 in the Nate’s Bread recipe it uses 5 cups of Crushed Wheat #1 and 1 cup Crushed Wheat #2 to make a 2 loaf recipe. Crushed Wheat #2 also makes a great baby cereal. My wife mixes Crushed Wheat #2 and breastmilk together and our kids loved it. They have also grown well on it and have been among the biggest babies in America. Crushed Wheat #2 has 6 grams of dietary fiber per ¼ cup.

Crushed Wheat #3

Replacement for Cream of Wheat cereal. Some people soak Crushed Wheat #3 in water all night and eat at room temperature the next morning. Some people will warm it up on the stove. Some people will boil water, take off the heat, and mix the Crushed Wheat #3 in. Some people will put the Crushed Wheat #3 in while it’s boiling. You can choose the way that works best for you.

We say the more eating and less heat then the more live nutrition you will get. Another way to use Crushed Wheat #3 is to dump straight into your bowl of soup to use as a replacement for crackers. It is a texture difference from crackers but a great difference in health and dietary fiber. Eating the Crushed Wheat #3 this way is very nutritious because of not baking and getting all the live God created nutrition. You can also use Crushed Wheat #3 in granola, granola bars, and protein balls. Crushed Wheat #3 has 24 grams of dietary fiber per 4 cups.

Crushed Whole Wheat

1:1 replacement for Whole Wheat Flour. The particle size in our Crushed Whole Wheat is bigger than what people are used to. So the recommendation is to use Crushed Whole Wheat with Crushed Wheat #1 half and half. So if a recipe uses 6 cups then use 3 cups Crushed Wheat #1 and 3 cups Crushed Whole Wheat. This helps the texture and rising of the bread or whatever you are baking. Crushed Whole Wheat can also be used in granola.

Crushed Oats

Replacement for Rolled Oats. This is like the Cream of Wheat cereal where people like it the different ways of preparing for eating. We really like to mix the Crushed Wheat #3 and Crushed Oats half and half for a breakfast blend cereal. You can also use the Crushed Oats in cookies and other recipes. Our Crushed Oats will be chewier and more dense than oats from the store. Most rolled or quick oats have been heated up before or during the rolling process meant to kill any live nutrition so the grain can’t go rancid. That helps to soften their oat up and makes it easier to chew.

Crushed Flax

We use Crushed Flax to sprinkle raw on top of foods we are eating for lunch or supper to add a boost of God created nutrition. Flax is a superfood and is packed full of nutrition for our bodies to thrive on. We also use Crushed Flax in our baking. In the Nate’s Bread recipe, we put 2 Tablespoons of Crushed Flax in ¼ cup warm water and let sit for 10 minutes. You’ll notice the water turning yellowish brown and now you have your own homemade flax oil. We did this because when we started making bread for the farmer’s market, we wanted to use a healthy oil and it was hard to find one that didn’t have manmade processing and chemicals in it. We tried eggs but found out there are a lot of people that are allergic to eggs.

Crushed Sunflower

We use Crushed Sunflower to sprinkle raw on top of foods we are eating for lunch or supper to add a boost of God created nutrition. Sunflowers put their roots 6 feet into the ground so you get a whole different set of nutrients that you don’t get from other grains. Since we crush our sunflowers so fine you could also use it as a flour. If you want to add a little more nutrition and sunflower taste you can mix a little into your different recipes. We also have a sunflower spread recipe in our green cookbook.

Crushed Quinoa

We use Crushed Quinoa to sprinkle raw on top of foods we are eating for lunch or supper to add a boost of God created nutrition. Quinoa is a superfood that carries all the necessary amino acids our bodies need from meats.

Crushed Buckwheat

Crushed Buckwheat makes a great pancake. If using in different baked goods it will not give a good rise unless used with Crushed Wheat #1.

Crushed Corn #1

This is a replacement for corn flour. It works great as a corn starch to use as a thickener for gravies or other stuff. Works great as a breading too.

Crushed Corn #2

This is a replacement for corn meal. Crushed Corn #2 makes a great corn bread. It can also make a corn mush or corn grits but may not be as big particle you are used to.

Crushed Coffee

This is for use as a drip coffee mainly but can be used other ways too. This is our fastest growing market, along with all the crushed wheat products, due to the amount of testimonies and success people have drinking it.

Many people that have given up on coffee due to getting headaches, stomachaches, acid reflex, and other issues are now drinking crushed coffee and having no problems! Our biggest testimony is from our Amish distributor in Arthur, Illinois. He hadn’t drank coffee in 2 years when we met him. We were giving a presentation in his house and had some coffee brewing in the back for people to try. Dad was talking about the coffee and he stood up to tell Dad he was going to try our coffee. The reason he hadn’t been drinking coffee was because his finger joints would lock up every time he drank a cup. So he drank 3 cups of our coffee that night and his fingers didn’t lock up! Now he drinks at least a cup every day and hasn’t had any problems since then.

This is due to the lack of chemicals in our crushed coffee and treating our bodies well. Coffee has a lot of good benefits for our body health. We also use coffee in baking, making our own coffee brownies. We have that recipe in our green cookbook as well. This is definitely one of my favorite recipes because I love both coffee and chocolate!!
